I second that~ Marvelous control of the medium. If I might ask, how long did this take you? When working with traditional mediums, I can NEVER pull off such a--Blah, I wanna say precise modulation of value, but I'm pretty sure that's not what I mean, haha. More so, mixing a good hue for skin. It's reminiscent of classic oil paintings, but it's watercolor, and the contrast exhibited, despite the medium is pretty amazing.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment.
Honestly, i can't tell for sure, somewhere from 6 to 8 hours, i'm going to check time next time i paint :D I think it just takes a lot of practice to get used to certain mediums. I've been painting with watercolors for a few years now and trust me i've done some terrible paintings :D
"It's reminiscent of classic oil paintings" - is such a compliment for me, 'cuz classic art inspires me a lot :)

It feels very vacant, and the gradient background just kills me, but stylistically, you've definitely got something going on. The feet seem kind of poor in relation to the face/hair region too- But YEH... Yeh... If it had more going on, It'd be LOADS better~

Thank you so much for the comment! I really appreciate it!
I totally agree with you on all accounts (especially the feet haha), so thank you so much for giving me feedback! :)

Something about the body seems off in proportion. The alignment of the neck seems weirder and weirder the more I look at it, same with the front-most leg and arm (the lower curve of the leg seems to "skip" a bit, and extend a little too low, the armpit is virtually non-existent because the breast seems to follow the path of the pectoral muscle, rather than form over top of it)

THAT BEING SAID, the work in color is phenomenal, and the face and hands are perfect

clayscence responds:

thank you for the constructive criticism. I can see that, maybe it looks a little weird haha thanks again!

Really liking the simple, bold geometry- Reminds me of Jhonen Vasquez's work in that respect, but it's got its own flavor of asymmetry going on. The only real flaw I'd say is the insubstantial nature of it, which is also one of its positive qualities, it adds to the quirk. Hard to achieve a happy medium in that realm of~~things

I really like the amount of detail you put in the iris and lashes, But a couple of things bother me. The tear duct looks a little too pointed and bright for its location on the eye. Second would be how stark the shading is on the left side of the eyeball itself. I feel it could use some gradual modulation toward the iris. The shadow doesn't seem to fit the form of the eye either, But that could be potentially because of the sharpness, i'm not entirely sure... But other than that, I love it, and respect the amount of time it seems you've put in it.

Kyrart responds:

Thank you so much for your critique. This was actually the first drawing I did in a few months for the fact I have been in a serious art rut. I made this to prove to myself I still have some talent left and focused a lot on the iris and not so much on the surrounding area. Next time I will go further in depth and put more time towards the rest. Thank you again, very awesome input :D

I've always been a fan of dark, inky, dripping art, So i'm liking this. Reminds me of Stephen Gammel's work in scary stories, except with a slightly harder edge about it.

its ok

but the proportions and perspective feels very off...

darthnebula responds:

Yeah it was my first time trying to attempt some form of distance and dynamic lighting, it is a little all over but I'm working on it

BRO!

Blender stuff. I CAN do 2D traditional illustrative stuff, but those tend to be personal therapeutic things.
