Killing it with the bass in that negative space the kick leaves. MMPH-BOOP
And the FM or low pass sweep where the bass opens up slowly (00:22-00:24) is FUCKING DELICIOUS.
The mix is a hair muddy with all the reverb, the tom patches could stand being more cheesy 80s and the lead arp lead doesn't walk octaves enough imho, but the legato lead is absolutely spot-on.

Holy fuck, this is home.
I've been meaning to get off my ass and get back into stop-motion animation (I did it for a few months when I was 14 or so) would you mind if I used this? It's gonna take a few months to scrape myself together, but goddamn. Golly!

The pulse repeated throughout gets a touch stale, I feel like it's possible to build a solid, long track around something simple like that (a la "Polaroid Girl" by Massive Attack) but I feel like the tone needs a little something more. I wish I could describe it better, but I dunno, haha. Maybe if it panned ear to ear slowly throughout the track, or some triplet grain shifting once in a blue moon, or jumped octaves it'd feel less stale.
But overall I really dig the track yeah!

Interesting! I heard raggd46's Mors Vinvit Omnia, and saw your review in the comments and was like "Golly I should look into this, I kind of want to do something similar"
I feel like the glitched vocal bits could've used some formant shifting and/or decimation, but I dunno, it's a personal decision, haha. Like, grain shifting (or rapid partial sampling or gating, I dunno how gerxactly you did this but the boot fits any of these feet) feels a tick strange with such smooth acapella work, but bee holder's eye and whatnot.
All in all NOICE! :D

Thanks so much! I agree, the flowing a cappella followed by disaster was awkward; my fault for being experimental. I'm actually quite elementary when it comes to playing with slicing and dicing. I never thought about using formant shifting or any sort of decimation, but I just now realized a lot of great glitch has that everywhere...I'm clueless when it comes to production value...I also use GarageBand, so my choice of effects is limited and typically more time consuming than it has to be...

I like the levels on everything for the most part, a nice clean mix, but I feel like the pads could use a hair more mid-high frequency opening and legato around the more dynamic parts. Less of a swell-- or some plucky/poppy vst or synths to kind of cap the swell and give it more of a sense of breadth.
Excellent composition dynamics though! I dig it :D

I love it! The almost marching band kind of drum troupe rhythm balancing a static beat and pulling the transitions along, AH! Well executed, despite the mix for the drums feeling a touch hollow.
The delayed arpeggios in the background complement the leads nicely, and the rapid SNES-ish slides and frequency modulated noises opening, transitioning and ending the track meshed with the rest of the track without so much as a hiccup.
NOICE WORK :D

Great to hear that the arpeggios worked for ya, as well as the other little things I added here and there :3

I love the bass groove and the percussive kind of metallic high frequency whispers AH! Those little things that aren't in your face make a world of difference :D
That said, it could certainly do better as a loop--something a touch smoother is all
